Lana Del Rey

I love Lana Del Rey. This chick is a total freak and I am so down with it. I’m a bit late on this album, I thought I had pre ordered it on iTunes, but I guess they had other ideas. Anyways, this is the first single/video from her new album Paradise. I’m just getting into the whole album, but this song and video alone are great. I disagree with the critics and love her voice and the fact she’s doing something different.

More Coverage

Phew, Europe is loving me these days! So stoked to be featured in so many awesome magazines. Thanks to Britta and Sam over at Cooler Mag, I had such a great time in London shooting my cover and spread, it’s always fun to get dressed up and do something I’m not used to. Also thanks to Sam Nelson from Dragon for putting me up at his place and showing me around the town.

I also did a feature with Pleasure Mag during the Nike Chosen Sessions called “Taking Laps”. My good friend Anke Eberhardt and photographer Fischi came out from Munich to spend the day shredding with me. We shot all the portraits and the interview while on the lift and all the photos are from the one session in Austria. Thanks to Anke and Fischi for featuring me, I’m really stoked on how this one came out. Always a pleasure guys! Get it…pleasure? Ha.

Check out the interviews below and please check out each mag’s websites here. Cooler Mag and Germany’s Pleasure Mag.

Jamie Anderson Shoot

So last spring the lovely Ms. Jamie Anderson invited myself and a crew of ladies to her hometown of South Lake Tahoe to do a bit of late season riding and shooting. Jamie’s home mountain Sierra at Tahoe set us up a private park, full of rails and butterpads and two sick jumps. It was great to get to just ride a fun jump without the pressure of a contest and we had some really progressive sessions. I learned a new trick and had a great time riding with the girls. Check out the edit below and some of my personal photos. Can’t wait til next year!

Beyone: Year of 4

In the past few years, I’ve begun to really appreciate strong, powerful women. Women who stand up for something, who own themselves and push hard for whatever it is that they want. It doesn’t have to be something monumental, I find inspiration in my friend’s grandmother who  just has the most wonderful disposition and lives her life with such conviction at 80 years of age. Beyonce, or any pop star for that matter, has never been in this category for me. I’ve never been a huge Beyonce fan, there’s always just been something about her that didn’t sit right with me. She’s beautiful, has an insane voice, but for some reason I just wasn’t convinced and always wrote her off as some manufactured pop star.

After watching the video below on the making of Beyonce’s most recent album 4, I am completely sold on this woman and have placed her in the category of strong, inspiring women that I look up to. Check it out below and see for yourself. Run that world Bey.

Golden Ride Interview

I got some coverage lately! Not a contest blog! Can you believe it? Check out my interview from this month’s issue of Golden Ride Magazine, which is unfortunately in German, but still worth a look. If you’re in Europe, you should pick up a copy, it also has a great feature on all the film girls and an interview with Hana Beaman. Thanks to Cyril for taking all of the photos and to the girls at Golden Ride for featuring me, I’m stoked on how it turned out!
