SASCHA DALEY

I stumbled across this little gem today on facebook. It’s the welcome to the team video for fellow Vancouver Island native Sascha Daley. I grew up in Courtenay with Sascha; our older siblings were friends, his brother came to snowboard competitions with us and he dated my best friend. He’s a great guy and has always been an exceptional skater. Even though it’s been years since I’ve seen him, it makes me really stoked to see him succeeding at what he’s always been so passionate about.

Congratulations Sascha! Keep killing it and representing the CV so very well. Check the video below, it’s heavy, kid isn’t messing around.

PLEASURE COVER

Round 2! I can’t believe it, it’s so rare to even get a cover, never mind two in one season. I am so happy and stoked and can’t thank the extremely talented Espen Lystad enough. It was more than worth it dragging my butt back up the mountain for the night shoot. This shot was taken on the second to last day of Snowboarder Mag’s Miss Superpark at Bear Mountain. I had been shooting all day long on the hip and Espen didn’t get a chance to shoot with me. When I was all finished and about to leave he asked me to come back up at night so he could get a shot. I was super tired, nursing a hurt ankle and the crew had planned on taking off to LA after riding, but I couldn’t turn down a chance to shoot with Espen. Good thing, because look what happend! He is a really talented photographer and amazing to work with. Thank you so much Espen, let’s do it again this winter!

The last few winters have been tough shooting wise for me. Not a lot of opportunities to get shots and when I have had the chance I’ve sort of blown it. It’s nice to start off the year seeing some results, it gives me a lot of motivation for this coming winter. I can’t wait to get back on snow, it came so fast this year, but I am really looking forward to it. I’m hoping for a pow day this Thursday up in Whistler to start things off.
